My research explores central ancient Greek values and how they bear on issues in ethics and aesthetics. I’m currently working on a monograph on Plato’s concept of the kalon (beautiful), Virtues of Appearance: Plato and the Pursuit of Beauty, and related pieces on shame, honour, and admiration in antiquity. I am also interested in philosophical method and the history of ethics and aesthetics, including in medieval, early modern, and contemporary philosophy. But there is much I enjoy reading and discussing.
